How to get there
This class, led by Thai monk Boonyod Nonthong (a.k.a. Monk Benny), is designed for participants of all levels, from beginners to experienced meditators. It offers a blend of loving-kindness meditation, mindfulness practice, and shared experiences through personal reflection. Consider it a gentle workout for the mind, open to anyone seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth.
The program begins with guided instruction in loving-kindness meditation, a practice that focuses on fostering positive intentions and goodwill towards oneself and others. By cultivating compassion, empathy, and love, participants can enhance emotional well-being and develop healthier relationships.
The session then transitions into mindfulness meditation, also known as Insight meditation. This practice involves observing thoughts, sensations, and experiences with non-judgmental awareness. Mindfulness meditation aims to develop a profound understanding of the nature of existence, fostering insight, clarity, and self-awareness.
Think of this session as an opportunity to foster happiness through loving kindness and acceptance, while promoting compassionate awareness of the present state of our body and mind.
A portion of the registration fee goes to support the NMR Meditation Center and Buddhist Temple in Raynham, Massachusetts.
