EFF’n Move (essentials for embodied, ecstatic, elevated, and empowered functionality) is a mindful, low-impact training approach focused on why you move, not just what you do. It uses resistance bands, body weight, and a blend of yoga, barre, and isometric techniques to build strength, mobility, and core stability.

Exercises are performed both standing and on the mat, with an emphasis on proper position and alignment to ensure safety and effectiveness. The method is adaptable to injuries and different fitness levels.

Key benefits include improved posture and core strength, greater muscular endurance, low-impact muscle toning, enhanced flexibility and balance, and increased body awareness through full-body conditioning. Carefully curated music playlists are included in this series of classes.

Class is capped at 15 participants.

About Tuni

Antonia (Tuni) Deignan is the mother of five children, but prior to that miraculous and ongoing adventure she was a professional ballet and jazz dancer performing and touring with several dance companies. A bike accident at age fifty-five forced a do-over in her movement practice. She now fuses her lifelong resource of dance alignment into a daily stretch, strength, balance, and functional-movement training program. She employs body weight and resistance-band exercises, along with intentional stretching, isolating musculoskeletal function while emphasizing whole-body awareness and safe mechanics. Her goals in fitness are to empower your daily activities with smart movement patterns, which come with consistent body-alignment checks, optimizing functionality and nurturing your ability to move powerfully and safely.

She holds certifications in Hatha yoga (200), JKZ meditation (100), both mat and reformer Pilates, spinning, and exhale barre. She developed her own hybrid barre fitness class and trained several studios, including a chain of health clubs in Chicago (CAC). She owned and directed her own dance studio (T move) and pre-professional dance company, as well as taught for the Cleveland Ballet Company.

Side note: she also wrote an award-winning book, Underwater Daughter: A Memoir of Survival and Healing, published in 2023 by She Writes Press.
