One Breath: New Paintings by Adam Guy
On View at Stillpoint July 8–22
Art Opening and Reception: July 9, 7:30 PM
Join us for an evening with artist Adam Guy as he presents a new collection of oil paintings created this spring on Martha’s Vineyard, a place he felt deeply called back to.
Developed through months of walking, observing, and painting, these works are inspired by the Island’s changing light, coastal landscapes, colonial stone walls, and quiet moments found in nature. Approaching the world with a sense of childlike wonder, Adam seeks to capture not simply what is seen, but what is felt—the beauty, mystery, and connection that reveal themselves when we slow down and pay attention.
Working in luminous layers of oil paint, he creates paintings that invite viewers to pause, breathe, and experience the natural world with renewed presence. Through color, light, and atmosphere, these works explore our relationship to nature and evoke a profound sense of peace, wonder, and belonging—an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and experience all that surrounds us.
At the art opening and reception, visitors will have the opportunity to experience this new body of work and hear Adam’s reflections on the creative process behind it.
