How to get there
Join musician Silas Berlin for another wonderful performance at Stillpoint.
When we think of familiar composers, certain qualities immediately come to mind: the lyrical beauty of Frédéric Chopin’s nocturnes, or the sweeping sound and powerful chords of Sergei Rachmaninoff. Yet both composers also wrote music that reveals unexpected sides of their distinctive styles.
This program explores Chopin’s more driving, energetic works, the gentler, sweeter side of Rachmaninoff, and a bonus: George Gershwin’s inventive blending of jazz and classical music in his compact, characterful preludes.
