About Theresa
Theresa Thomason’s vocal talent emerged in her youth, while singing in church. Her repertoire expanded to jazz, pop, and R&B, with a career-defining victory at the world-famous Apollo Theater inspiring her love for the stage. She has headlined sold-out concerts across the U.S. and in over 170 European cities, where she spent 17 years performing in a theatrical concert she wrote and produced. On Broadway, she starred in the musical Hot Feet, featuring the music of Earth, Wind & Fire. Her career includes performances and recordings with a wide range of artists, including Stevie Wonder, Paul Winter, Wycliffe Gordon, Savion Glover, Maurice Hines, Brazilian superstars Renato Braz and Ivan Lins, Puerto Rican icon Danny Rivera, and choirs from the Apollo Theater and Riverside Church in Harlem. She continues to tour around the world, performing with her band, as well as in jazz duos and trios, and currently serves on the boards of Population Media Center, Massaro Community Farm, and the Martha’s Vineyard Diversity Coalition. Her mission focuses on community, uniting people through energy and artistic expression. And, she has a new album forthcoming!
