How to get there
Sunday, August 23
3–5 PM
Ready to jump into improv, but don’t have time for a full session? Whether you’re new to it or just curious about how to think on your feet and have spontaneous fun, this single two-hour intro class, led by Sean Roach, will give you a taste of what improvisation is all about.
We’ll explore the essential building blocks of improvisation, like the power of “yes, and.” Through games, exercises, and plenty of laughter, you’ll build confidence, loosen up, and learn how to trust your instincts. There’s never any pressure to be funny; we make the fun together!
This is perfect for summer residents and anyone looking for an afternoon of playful learning and community connection—exactly what Stillpoint is all about.
No experience is necessary. Just bring yourself and an open mind.
The price of participation is $40.
About Sean
Sean Roach earned a degree in fine arts at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and studied theater at Temple University. He moved to Martha’s Vineyard in August of 2017, with his wife and two children. His days are filled with painting Island landscapes and waves, which can be seen at the Louisa Gould Gallery in Vineyard Haven. Previously, he performed as an actor in theater and on television. He was the host and co-producer of two TV shows, The Sunny Side Up Show and Noodle and Doodle, which have aired on Sprout, NBC, and networks all over the world. His love of improv began in 2006, when he became a member of Comedy Sportz Philadelphia, an award-winning improvisational comedy troupe. On Martha’s Vineyard, he went on to found TBD Improv, which has monthly shows. You can learn more about that at TBDimprov.com.
