​Writers Moira Convey Silva and Sarah Carey introduce a different kind of writing workshop.
​
​Pretend it’s 2030, 2045, or 2070. How are we taking care of ourselves, each other, and the planet? Stories create a blueprint for what could be possible, and we hope you will share your vision with us in your writing!
​
​What is a change you wish to see? Monthly community potlucks, accessible child or elder care, four-day work weeks, reliable public transportation, community gardens, moving slower throughout the day, intergenerational housing, regular sabbaticals? There are endless possibilities.
​
​In this workshop we will:

• Connect with fellow optimists and creatives

• Reflect and create potential solutions through short writing prompts 

• Continue the conversation with resources

​This workshop was originally inspired by Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson’s What If We Get it Right? and her podcast episodes on how storytelling can change the world.

​The price of participation is on a sliding scale ($20–$30).

​About Sarah

Sarah Carey is an emerging writer and community organizer with a lifelong love for and connection to the Vineyard. She hosts writing workshops on the Island and in New York City, with a current focus on creating blueprints to explore how we better care for ourselves, each other, and the planet.

​About Moira

Moira Convey Silva teaches writing courses on Martha's Vineyard and at GrubStreet Center for Creative Writing in Boston. She has collaborated on the launch of two major community writing initiatives: Covid Monologues MV: A Project to Nourish, Inspire, and Connect and Another Way: A Creative Writing and Storytelling Project.
