Loving Kindness and Mindfulness Meditation: A 90-Minute Journey
Stillpoint
West Tisbury, 02575
How to get there
Meditation 8:30am to 10am
Stillpoint is honored to welcome former Thai monk Boonyod Nonthong (Benny) for a special morning of mindfulness meditation training designed for all levels, from complete beginners to longtime practitioners.
This session offers a gentle yet powerful training of the heart and mind.
We will begin with guided loving-kindness meditation (Metta), cultivating compassion, goodwill, and warmth toward ourselves and others. This practice softens the heart, nurtures emotional balance, and creates a sense of belonging.
From there, Benny will guide participants into mindfulness of the body, using breath and body awareness to ground in the present moment. Through guided practice, participants will explore the Four Foundations of Mindfulness—body, feelings, mind, and mental states—with calm, non-judgmental awareness.
Please bring a notebook for reflection.
About Benny
At age eleven, Boonyod Nonthong began his journey as a novice monk. He then studied at the Wat Pho Meditation Center in Bangkok, Thailand. At age twenty-one, he began studying with the esteemed Mahasi Sayadaw in the Vipassana (insight) tradition. This included approximately three years of intensive practice (18 hours daily) under the venerable guidance of BhaddhantaWirosana, Ph.D. He has resided at Wat Nawamintararachutis (NMR Meditation Center) in Raynham, Massachusetts, for the past three years, where he continues to deepen his monastic practice and share mindfulness with the community.
