This immersive, holistic musical experience features the work of one of the greatest composers in Western music, Johann Sebastian Bach. Created by violinist Michael Jamanis, it blends live music performance with intentional breathing, spoken word, mindfulness, and community meditation.
More than a concert, Breathing with Bach invites audiences to slow down, listen deeply, and experience Bach’s music as a source of reflection, connection, and renewal—a doorway to what Jamanis describes as a “connection to the field of loving kindness.”

About Michael
Michael Jamanis is a violinist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist with a three-decade career performing on major stages worldwide. He is a founding member of the Newstead Trio and has appeared on NPR and PBS. A graduate of The Juilliard School (B.M.), Yale School of Music (M.M.), and Rutgers University (D.M.A.), Jamanis collaborates across genres, from classical to jazz, hip-hop, spoken word, and mindfulness practices. His work is rooted in a belief in the transformative power of music to build understanding and connection in our communities.
